the max webers are in london this week – woop woop! its part of the lse teaching week, and i thought i’d mark the occasion by listing a few of my favourite cafés to work in in the holborn/russell square area.

stone’s throw from holborn tube :

you’ve got the free state coffee – which does excellent breakfast & lunch food, free wifi, plugs for your computer… but be careful, there are no toilets. so sip that coffee slowly. http://www.freestatecoffee.co.uk/

orchard kitchen, not far, has a great little feel to it – but there’s no music whatsoever in the background! do they have plugs? i cannot remember. but defo one of best vegetarian meals/lunches i have ever had. http://www.orchard-kitchen.co.uk/

fleet river bakery gets ram packed, but here you have plugs, toilets, delicious coffee and amazing lunches. get in there quick. http://fleetriverbakery.com/

more on the bloomsbury/russell square end, there are two good places: fork and store street espresso. Both are very new york hipster café where you can work – i’d say, especially store street espresso. So don’t hesitate: http://www.storestreetbloomsbury.co.uk/ and  http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186338-d2536225-Reviews-Fork_Deli_Patisserie-London_England.html
