i recently wrote a post about the sant’ambrogio market; well, a few metres away is piazza dei ciompi, where florence houses a fabulous antique market near what used to be an old fish market. it is open every week monday to saturday; but on the last sunday of the month the market gets really big. antiquarians come from all over the region to sell their treasures – and i have recently sat in a couple pairs of vintage armchairs which come from this specific market. they are gorgeous. i need to find a way to buy one and bring it back on easyjet.

a little photo diary to give you an idea of the market:

see the fish engraved into the arches

the pre-fabs in the centre are part of the permanent flea market

this lady looks deep in thought;

i’m an especially big fan of the eclectic wall composition in the background

oooooh: pan clock.

looks so welcoming.
